Adventure Trailers to provide five Arctic capable trailers for the Italian Expedition Company, ICE.

The expedition, named “Oltre” –Beyond the Edge- will celebrate the 90th anniversary of Roald Amundsen’s expedition of the Arctic Ocean and the North East Passage. The journey is from the North Cape in Norway to the Bering Sea, 8,700 miles (14,100 Km) on pack ice. They will experience the harshest of the Siberian winter with temperatures ranging from -13’F to -58’F (-25C to –50C). The expedition will span six months, from November 2008 until March 2009.



Oltre will use IVECO Massif and Daily 4x4 vehicles with matched Adventure Trailers. Four of the trailers will be custom built Chaser models with 66 gallon (250 liter) diesel fuel cells, and the fifth trailer, a modified Chaser, will be used as a snowmobile transport and will be fitted with a split 92 gallon (350 liter) diesel and petrol fuel cell. Mario Donovan, VP of Adventure Trailers said: “The experience we gained from Expeditions West Arctic Ocean Expedition in 2007 enabled us to offer some great solutions for Oltre”. “We are honored when a serious expedition like Oltre does their research and selects our company to provide their equipment”.
